A Bibliography of Postgraduate Research Studies in Music Education 1964- 1989 by PDF Summary

Book Description: One of the outcomes of the 'Bibliography of Australian Music Education Research' (BAMER) Project is the following bibliographic listing of theses, minor theses, dissertations, research papers, etc. which have been presented in total or partial fulfilment for the award of higher degrees at universities, Colleges of Advanced Education and other tertiary education institutions in Australia during the period 1964 to 1989. In addition, the listing includes several theses and dissertations which have been presented to overseas institutions either by Australians studying abroad for higher degrees or by music educators from overseas who are now resident in Australia. The listing includes eighty- three research studies undertaken for master's degrees (or as a means of qualifying for entry to a master's degree program) and eighteen research studies undertaken for doctoral degrees. Whilst nearly all of these studies clearly fall within the ambit of music education, there are a few which relate primarily to allied fields such as musicology, ethnomusicology and music psychology but which nevertheless impinge on aspects of music education such as musical development in children, music pedagogy, music psychology and so on. These have been included in the bibliography as being relevant to the 'broad field of music education'.
