Book Description: The Windsor Air Quality Study investigated the Windsor airshed characteristics for airborne toxics/carcinogenic compounds and determined personal exposure to these compounds through monitoring of outdoor and personal air quality; inventory, monitoring, and modelling of specific point and area pollutant sources; and investigation of human activity patterns. This report summarizes the available air monitoring data from the Windsor-Detroit area. The sampling techniques and analytical methods of all agencies contributing data to this study are summarized and, where possible, compared. Concentrations of pollutants of concern were compiled from several agencies involved in ambient air monitoring activities in the Windsor-Detroit area. The arithmetic mean concentration and standard deviation, the maximum and minimum, and several percentiles are presented on a site-by-site and agency-by-agency basis. The report compares annual average concentrations in Windsor of several pollutants of greatest concern with concentrations in other Ontario communities and with concentrations in other Canadian cities.
