Some parts of the play were actually witnessed and more comes from research from brokers and real estate attorneys in New York City. All of the board positions are real. While the play is set in a New York City Fifth Avenue co-op board, it reflects the same biases that can be found in private organizations all over America. This play had a completely sold out run in New York, in addition to a sold out run in San Francisco where there are very few co-op apartments.
