Book Description: Abstract: This thesis reports the results of my M.S. research work about applying the space-time Conservation Element and Solution Element (CESE) method to computational aero- and hydro- acoustics. I am concerned with numerical solutions of nonlinear fluid equations for wave propagation in low-speed flows in air and in water. The case simulated is flow over cylinder. For air flows, three different Reynolds numbers are considered: 89000, 46000, and 22000. Results compared favorably with previously published numerical and experimental results. For water flow over a cylinder at Re = 89000 is carried out and the generated noises are predicted.
