The Alternative Technologies Program is a congressionally mandated program in which the U.S. Army was required to examine the feasibility of alternatives to incineration for destruction of bulk HD and VX chemical agents currently stored at various U.S. Army installations. The public concern about the effects of incineration emissions on the local environment and public health was a key reason for the Congressional mandate. This documents ERDEC's work on this program.
