Episcopal Churchwomen, Diocese of North Carolina, Ninety-Eighth Annual Report and Handbook of Information by Episcopal Churchwomen PDF Summary

Book Description: Excerpt from Episcopal Churchwomen, Diocese of North Carolina, Ninety-Eighth Annual Report and Handbook of Information: Church of the Good Shepherd, Asheboro, North Carolina, April 28 and 29, 1980 In the diocese Catharine served as Chairman of Christian Social Relations for the ecw and as President from 1958 - 61. She was twice a delegate to the Triennial Meeting of the Women of the Church and several times a delegate to the Provincial Meeting of the Women of the Fourth Province. She served as representative of the Churchwomen on the Diocesan Council and on several commissions and committees. The service for which she is most lovingly remembered, however, was the understanding and counsel she gave to many persons in one-to-one relationships known only to those involved. She sought out newcomers and those in trouble to offer help; countless others sought her out, drawn by her good judgment, sensitivity in personal relationships and strong faith. Whether giving of herself, her time or money, Catharine never gave grudgingly, but always volunteered without any attempt to dictate or domineer. Most vividly of all, those privileged to have known her remember her bubbly good spirits and the joy with which she served, which came from a life overflowing with love for God, her family and friends, and all of God's children, even unto the last. Thanks be'to God for His servant, Catharine. May her memory inspire others as she goes from strength to strength in the life of greater service.
