To make these requirements effective, official action has been taken by Stage boards of education or by legislation. This bulletin is a revision of "Guide Lines," January 1956, published by the Office of Education. The data were supplied by State department of education officials. Some States, now engaged in a study of requirements for certification of guidance workers, may have revisions completed and adopted within the near future. Part 1 of this bulletin lists guidance workers certification by States--34 mandatory and 7 optional.
