It is fully understood that the troop and marine will not receive any extra powder or ammunition as it was done among the French, and these supplies must not be used, unless for something absolutely necessary and legitimate, as an explanation of its use must be given in the statement. 25th. Any one who wishes to get powder or ammunition for hunting purposes will have it by paying the current price for it, and the amount will be charged to his accoimt, and those who wish to indulge in this pleasure or sport must have their own guns, as they cannot use the guns of the army for this purpose. 26th. The ammunition and guns for the military service must be kept for this purpose as long as possible as these belong to the Royal Treasury, and when all these are used up, those of the reserved supply must be used in case it is necessary. As something must always be on hand for an unexpected occurrence, the ammunition must be kept in a very high and dry place, so the dampness will not injure the quality of the powder, and care must be taken that the oldest kind of powder is used first, keep the fresh on hand. 27th. A quantity of goods is sent of all kinds for those that will need them, and they can take their pay in goods, and they must understand that these goods are sold to them at the lowest prices, at which prices the goods have been bought here. 28th. Immediately upon arrival of the troops there, they must start clearing the land that has been selected for the construction of the Fort, they must cut the timber and lumber, and after it has been sawed it will have to be put away; the soldiers will do all the work connected with the establishment of the Fort, and they will get...
