Book Description: The Reverend William Taylor was born in Falkirk, Stirlinghamshire, Scotland in 1768. He graduated from the University of Glasgow, probably in 1790. He was ordained a minister on 4 December 1798. He was the first Secession Minister at Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, Scotland, 1798-1817. He married [1] Mary McKeown (1777-1821) and [2] Mary Armstrong (1782-1869). Most of his children were born in Stonehouse. In 1817, he was sent to Canada by the Edinburgh Presbytery. He settled in Osnabruck, a Loyalist settlement thirteen miles above Cornwell. He stayed two years in in 1819, he and his family crossed the St. Lawrence River and settled in Waddington, St. Lawrence County, New York. He died there in 1840. Descendants live in New York, California, Illinois, Ohio and elsewhere.
