Book Description: Descendants of Richard Riley (d. 1778), who was born in Ireland but immigrated to America. He lived and died at Charlestown, Frederick Co., Virginia. He married Margaret (1755-1829). Their first child Mary, was born in 1777 at Charlestown, Va., and then a boy, Richard, on Sept. 25, 1778. On the same day Richard, the father, died. Margaret later married Walter Shirley. Mary married Jarvis (Sam) Shirley. Richard Riley (1778-1863) married Elizabeth Day (1788- 1873) 1807 at Dilles Bottom, Belmont Co., Ohio. All their married life was spent in Mead Twp., Belmont Co., Ohio. Descendants live in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and elsewhere.
