The history of the Hollanders of Iowa is not wholly provincial: it suggests much that is typi cal in the development of Iowa and in the larger history of the West: it is a story of the stubborn and unyielding fight of men and women who over came the obstacles of a new country and handed down to their descendants thriving farms and homes of peace and plenty.
