It seemed proper, therefore, for this and other reasons, that the completion by Reverend Samuel Harrison Greene of twenty years of service as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church should be celebrated in a manner befitting its meaning and importance. At the regular quarterly meeting of the Church and Congregation held October 11, 1899, a general committee was appointed, with instructions to take action for the suit able recognition 'of the anniversary, and with power to make all necessary arrangements.
