Book Description: William Elias Abbott (1869-1949) was born in Ogden, Utah to Myron and Laura Josephine Allen Abbott. Myron Abbott was married to four wives, three of whom later divorced him. Laura, William's mother, was one of the women who divorced Myron. The divorce was a bitter one which affected William's view of life and marriage. In 1890 William married Mary Jane Leavitt (1873-1956). They were the parents of thirteen. William worked as a farmer in the Mesquite-Bunkerville, Nevada area where he had moved to when he was a young boy. He served as Bishop of Mesquite for the LDS Church for over twenty years. Descendants live in Nevada, Utah and other parts of the United States.
