Book Description: William Norwood, son of Nathaniel Norwood (1782-1870), was born in 1800. William may have been born in Granville County and moved to Chatham County, North Carolina. William married Lucy Williams, daughter of Frederick and Jemima Williams. They moved to Tennessee and then to Texas where William died in 1840. His wife, Lucy, returned to Chatham County with the children. This Norwood line has been traced back from Nathaniel, mentioned above back to William Norwood, who moved from England to Surry County, Virginia, in 1648.
