He had a son, Henry Clay who married Mary Mitchell in 1708. She was the daughter of William Mitchell and Elizabeth. They had two sons. Their first son was William Mitchell Clay was born in 1709. He married Martha Ann Lewis, daughter of Col. Lewis and Elizabeth Warner. Descendants lived in Virginia, Georgia, Kentucky and elsewhere.
