Book Description: The progenitor of this family, Peter Twist, came to America from Scotland, when he was still a young man. He was born in Old Alresford, England in 1654, but his father, a minister, had moved to Edinburgh, Scotland that same year. In 1680 he married Anne Callum of Lynn in the community of Marble- head. Both towns are adjacent to Salem, Massachusetts. They were parents of nine children, born between 1681 and 1700. Includes Twists and Chadwicks who are descendants of Mayflower passenger Richard Warren, who came to Plymouth in 1620. His wife Elizabeth and their five daughters arrived in Plymouth in 1623. Includes the Willemzen/Willemsen family from the Netherlands in New Amsterdam. Alert Willemzen was born 1615 probably in the Netherlands and married Weyntie Elberts.
